​BUBA – 3rd April 2010

It was a pleasure to be asked to judge at this canine association as the judges are not selected by the committee, many are nominated by breed councils having won the majority between all umbrella breed clubs. Entry was down but to be expected being an Easter weekend with a Breed Club Open show the following day and then a Breed Club Centenary Championship show the day after! I’m pleased to say that I was one of three that attended all 3 shows, I’m not sure if that’s dedication or stupidity? You decide.

Puppy (2,0abs)

1. Chetwynd’s Rhydycroesau Oh La La Pari, BP, 11mth R/W bitch. Well built cobby pup, set low on well boned legs. Large well sprung rib set on a short back providing an appealing body shape on a sturdy rear. Correct shaped skull with good upsweep of jaw, dark clear eyes and suitable nose roll size.
   
2. Parnham & Swift’s Hayjays Warrior, 6mth R/W male that’s still very much a baby and needs to develop and mature. Correct brick shaped skull with split nose roll. Ears should settle with maturity. Good upsweep of jaw. Shapley toned body with sufficient width of chest. Long tail, carried a little high.

Junior (4,1abs)

1. Hodgkinson’s Bullpei Dori Mckane, BOB, 14mth R/W bitch. Was drawn to my eye as soon as she entered the ring. This bitch is upstanding with strong well boned front and a well covered head piece . Bricked shaped skull with good width, low set ears and dark clear eye. I particularly liked her body shape and substance, she is put together extremely well meaning your hands just glide over her. When she moved at the correct pace, she moved well and without effort, supported by her well angulated rear.
2. Rowley Pannifer’s Melafella Red Perry different type to 1. Finer in wrinkle and plainer in head but still had all the correct properties. Short, stocky bitch that moved well. Well developed chest and brisket on the correct length of body.
3. Crewdson’s Shambulls Angel Delight at Sensatiobull Yearling (1,0abs) 1st Crewdson’s Shambulls Amazing Grace at Sensatiobull, R/W bitch. Standard sized bitch with fair sized head, large nose, well padded muzzle with correct size eye set, ears need to settle. Sufficient bone on good length of leg, short body and well ribbed. Moved very well.

Post Graduate (2,1abs)

1. Chetwynd’s Celticpride J’Adore at Rhydycroesau unexaggerated white bitch. If I had RBOB to award this girl most certainly would have received it. She is in super condition, beautiful expression due to good pigmentation on a classic broad flat skull with correct set eyes and a big black nose plus a well padded muzzle to finish her head piece. Straight bone to strong pasterns and tight feet. Good brisket and well ribbed on a good length of body providing an overall appealing picture.
